Keith Rosser, director of Reed Screening, the pre-employment screening arm of the Reed Group, has been elected as a member of the Europe Council for the Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA).

The PBSA, founded as a non-profit trade association in 2003, was established to represent the interest of companies offering employment and tenant background screening services globally.

Keith Rosser, director of Reed Screening, said: “I’m delighted to be elected to the Europe Council for the PBSA, the global trade body for background screening.

My role will be to bridge the work I do with the UK government, influencing and advising on key topics such as digital identity, online right to work, supply chain transparency, online recruitment threats, and criminal record disclosure changes with the views and needs of private sector business, ensuring a healthy public and private sector partnership."

Reed Screening work with a number of organisations to ensure the best service is offered at all times. Keith is also a member of Employers Cooperating with the Home Office (ECHO), and was instrumental in changing ‘Right to Work’ legislation last year.

On top of that, he is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on ‘digital identity’ and sits on the Cifas Advisory Board looking at employee fraud and helping to shape strategy. He chairs the Criminal Records Trade Body (CRTB) with the DBS and Disclosure Scotland, and is chair of Release Scotland, recently working with the Scottish government on reforms to the criminal record regime.

Keith also chairs the first cross-government labour market enforcement body: the Association of Compliance Organisations (ASCOR).

All of this work helps to ensure Reed Screening is at the forefront of understanding future trends, ensuring the fastest pre-employment vetting in the UK.

Keith added: “It’s a really exciting time for the industry. So much change and innovation - such as 24/7 operations and online capability - means businesses can fully screen people in half the time they used to be able to."
